ALEXSUCKS

alexsucks, Foto Club, Philadelphia, PA. 3/23/25.

Step inside Foto Club, tucked away in North Philadelphia—a venue with all the raw, electric energy of a dive bar, but with an elevated, intentional feel. It's the perfect place to catch an artist who knows how to bring a crowd together and let loose.

This time, that artist was ALEXSUCKS. We got lucky seeing them in such an intimate, alternative space. Their sound pulls from the roots of The Strokes, Bloc Party, and LCD Soundsystem—reviving that dance-punk, indie sleaze vibe with total confidence.

The room was packed and close-quartered, with the crowd feeding off every moment. As soon as the band took the stage, everyone pushed forward in anticipation. It felt like that kind of show—the one you want to say you were at before the band blows up.

Lead singer Alex crowd-surfed midway through the set, and guitarist John jumped off stage to mosh with fans. The energy was nonstop, and they didn’t miss a beat. Toward the end of the night, they replayed their latest hit “Worm In The Sun,” and it felt like the whole building was shaking.

This was easily a show I’d see again in a heartbeat. If you get a chance to catch ALEXSUCKS on tour before they start hitting bigger venues—go. ASAP
