BIG WILD

Big Wild, Union Transfer, Philadelphia, PA 9/9/25.

Calling all bass heads who’d rather leave the rail behind and dive into the pit for a full-band experience, this is your show. On an otherwise ordinary Tuesday night in Philadelphia, Big Wild turned the evening into something unforgettable.

Backed by a live band, Jackson Stell (aka Big Wild) lit up the stage with a performance that blended dancefloor energy with organic instrumentation. As I stepped into the photo pit, the front row erupted. The lights dimmed, small character cutouts scattered across the stage came alive, and in the center, a glowing portal of light appeared. Out stepped Big Wild, launching straight into “Farewell,” and the bass hit like a shockwave.

Throughout the night, the crowd’s enthusiasm never dipped. Personal highlights included “Pale Blue Dot,” “Love Any Longer,” “Awaken,” “Stardust,” and “Show Me.” Between tracks, Jackson broke into dynamic drum solos—switching from standing percussion to the cajón, where one of my favorite moments of the night came: him hammering rhythms at the very front of the stage. (It also made for one of my new favorite live shots in our gallery.)

The show closed with the fan-favorite “6’s to 9’s,” wrapping the night in pure passion and euphoria. If the Wild Child tour is still coming through your city, don’t wait—this is a live experience worth catching before it’s gone.
