Coco Jones Sets a New Standard of Caliber on Her “Why Not More?” Tour

Coco Jones turned the House of Blues into a house of worship during the Houston stop of her Why Not More? tour, and the energy was nothing short of divine. With a sold-out crowd filling the venue from the floor to the balcony, the Grammy Award winner gave a performance that reminded everyone in the building exactly why she’s one of the most powerful voices in R&B today. From the vocals to the visuals, Coco didn’t just perform, she poured her heart out.

The night opened with R&B artist Ta Thomas, who immediately brought warmth and soul to the stage. When he performed “Devotion,” his voice wrapped around the crowd like velvet. He stepped off stage to sing among the audience, complimenting the beautiful women in the room and shouting out Houston’s reputation for birthing powerhouse gospel singers. It wasn’t just a performance; it was an invitation to lean in and feel something.

Lady London followed and brought a completely different energy; commanding, poetic, and unforgettable. Dressed in a cowgirl ensemble that paid homage to the city, she owned the stage with grace and edge. She shared how much she’s evolved, saying we’ve watched her grow and now we’re watching her glow. Her words struck a chord. Her set was a masterclass in lyrical storytelling, full of beauty, brains, and bars. Her spoken word segment had the crowd snapping in unison, and when she performed “Pop Ya Sh*t,” the energy exploded. Lady London is in a lane of her own, and she’s driving it with style and purpose.

By the time Coco hit the stage, the room was electric. She opened with “Taste” and “By Myself,” flanked by two dancers and full choreography that never took away from her crystal-clear vocals. Her tone was buttery and rich, her runs were flawless, and her stage presence was magnetic. Every move was intentional, every note had weight, and every moment on that stage reminded us that Coco Jones is walking in her purpose.

Wearing royal purple, Coco glided through a setlist that showcased both the strength and softness of her artistry. She performed crowd favorites like “Caliber,” “No Chaser,” “Double Back,” and the Grammy-winning hit “ICU.” She took her time, delivering every line with depth and ease. At one point, she sat down to simply sing, no frills, no distractions, just her voice filling the room like church. Her cover of “There Goes My Baby” was a standout moment that left the crowd in awe.

She connected with the audience in a way that felt genuine and grounded. Everyone in the room wasn’t just a fan, we were stans. Every lyric, every adlib, we were right there with her. She fed off our energy and gave it right back. She paused at one point to thank the crowd for riding with her and believing in her throughout her journey. Her voice cracked a little with emotion, and it felt like a full circle moment.

She even shared an unreleased song, offering a raw, vulnerable performance that made the night feel even more intimate. For the encore, Coco returned to the stage to perform her hit “Here We Go,” and the entire room sang in harmony like we had been rehearsing for this moment. It was powerful, emotional, and a perfect closing note for a night that felt bigger than music.

Coco Jones is more than a singer. She is a Grammy Award-winning performer, a storyteller, and an artist who knows exactly who she is. She was born to do this, and it’s clear she’s having the time of her life doing it. Her presence is commanding, her gift is undeniable, and her joy is contagious. After a night like that, one thing is certain: Coco deserves her flowers.
