GOOD NEIGHBOURS

Good Neighbours, Irving Plaza, New York City, NY 10/17/2025

Good Neighbours arrived in the U.S. to celebrate their debut album, Blue Sky Mentality. After their single “Home” blew up on TikTok, fans everywhere have been buzzing for more music from the duo. Over the past year, Oli and Scott have released five singles and a self-titled EP that gained strong commercial traction. Once the album dropped, they knew a second headlining U.S. tour had to follow. Earlier in the year, they also joined Foster the People on the Paradise State of Mind tour, which we covered previously.

I headed to New York City to catch Good Neighbours at Irving Plaza for a nearly sold-out show. The venue was packed with excited fans ready to hear the band live. First up was Nicky Youre, the Southern California artist behind the viral 2021 hit “Sunroof.” His sound has evolved with a full band and a polished style. I especially loved the group vocals on “Cheap Wine,” and “Girls Girls Girls!” had the whole crowd moving, clearly inspired by the classic rock energy of “Centerfold” by The J. Geils Band. By the time he left the stage, the room’s energy was electric.

Then the lights dropped again, and I made my way to the pit as “Suburbs,” my favorite track, began to play. The band emerged and immediately took command of the room. This show was particularly meaningful for them, as it was their largest New York venue yet. To make the night even more special, Oli’s parents were in attendance. Throughout the set, the crowd sang along loudly and joyfully, a moment that made me smile, realizing I wasn’t the only one who had their songs on repeat.

Some standout tracks from the night included “Ripple,” “found u/me,” “Keep It Up,” and, of course, “Home.” They closed with “Daisies,” thanking the crowd warmly and promising to return soon. Good Neighbours has become not only one of my favorite artists to stream over the past year, but one of my favorite artists to see live. They’re currently gearing up for headlining shows in Australia and New Zealand, and I’m already hoping they make their way back to the U.S. again. You can bet I’ll be there.
