JERRY CANTRELL

Jerry Cantrell, The Archer, Allentown, PA 9/2/25.

The spirit of the 90's reigned in Allentown early September, as Jerry Cantrell, the ex-frontman of the iconic alternative group Alice In Chains, and his band descended upon Archer Music Hall in the Lehigh Valley. Opening up the night was the band Sparta, who hail from El Paso Texas, priming the audience with their post-hardcore anthems.

After Sparta, the legendary AIC frontman, keeping an element of suspicion behind his sunglasses and jacket, entered the stage to a crowd of anxious and excited fans. Behind the band, prominently displaying the tour's title in bold text, was a banner reading "I WANT BLOOD." Throughout the show, Jerry gave the crowd some treats, transporting us all back to the heyday of Alice In Chains, playing iconic alt rock masterpieces such as "Rain When I Die," "Man In The Box," and "Would." The spirit of the 90's was not only felt in the vibe and blasting guitar riffs, but also between songs, as fans could be heard chanting another iconic line from the decade, though associated with a different personality: "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry." Luckily though, no surprise ex-girlfriends were brought onstage for any televised domestic battles.

Jerry delighted the crowd and ended the evening on a high note, with the majority of the crowd singing together and to themselves, as they made their way back out onto the streets, with the encore-closing "Rooster."
