DAFFO/WEDNESDAY
Daffo/Wednesday, Union Transfer, Philadelphia, PA 11/10/2025
Philadelphia was in for a treat as Wednesday arrived at Union Transfer on November 10th, 2025, celebrating the release of her recent album, “Bleeds,” on her second leg of their North America Tour
Supporting Wednesday on the second leg of the tour is Indie Rock artist and Philadelphia native, Daffo. Focusing on themes like self-loathing and anxiety, and blending folk, grunge, and indie together, Daffo creates a beautiful and unique sound.
As you can expect, Daffo was very excited to perform in their hometown, and fans were excited to listen to fan favorites like “Good God” and “Poor Medicine.” And with Daffo releasing her first studio album in September, ‘Where the Earth Bends,” this setlist was absolutely stacked. Some songs featured on her setlist from her new album are “Absence Makes the Heart Grow,” “Carrot Fingers,” and “Bad Dog.” With a mix of energetic and chill songs, fans were left very pleased by Daffo’s excellent performance.
From Asheville, North Carolina, Wednesday brings a unique mix of Shoegaze, Noise Rock, and Indie. Forming the band back in 2017, Wednesday rose to the occasion, releasing various albums over the years, like “I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone”(2020) and “Rat Saw God” in 2023, and found major success. With their 6th studio album, “Bleeds”, released on September 19th, 2025, fans had a lot to look forward to.
Right before the set began, the band decorated their stage with a lot of old toys, adding a new level of anticipation and excitement from fans, as they were trying to see what toys they were placing around the stage. There were a lot of dolls, a sock monkey, and even a jack-in-the-box.
A few moments later, the lights went dim, and a wonderful night began. Starting the set with a bang, Wednesday started with “Reality TV Argument Bleeds,” and the energy was high, with the vocalist, Karly, impressing everyone with her stunning vocals. The entire band’s chemistry was amazing. Although they were spread apart on stage, you can tell that they love performing together, as everyone was in their element, almost like they were in a flow state.
After a few more songs, Karly announced that she had a guest to bring on stage, Dan Wriggins, a Philly-based songwriter. The two of them plated “Phish Pepsi”, and it was awesome. Their vocals blended very well together, and they were in perfect harmony.
With fans wanting even more, Karly had the audience vote between two songs, “Bitter Everyday” and “Quarry”. “Bitter Everyday” won by a landslide, and fans were very happy. With Wednesday having music for everyone, the mosh pit formed, and they were going nuts down there.
Towards the end of the set, some fans may have been expecting an encore, but Wednesday doesn’t do them, as they wanted to give their all right then and there, and best believe, they did exactly that. Ending their set with “Wasp”, everyone was having the time of their lives. Crowd surfing, shirt waving, every second of that finale was fantastic.
Overall, Wednesday puts on a show you HAVE to experience for yourself. With a few more tour dates running until November 22nd, you do not want to miss out on this.
