Broken Social Scene/Metric/Stars, The Mann, Philadelphia, PA 4/18/2026
If there are three bands to identify with 2000’s Canadian indie music, they would be Metric, The Broken Social Scene, and Stars. This group of titans hit the stage at The Met in July, playing classics old and new. They all joined each other on stage plenty of times, be it for The Broken Social Scene’s “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl” or Metric’s “Loyal.” The obvious joy onstage bred from decades long friendships made the show even more enjoyable, showing in real time how music can bring people together.
