BENEE
Benee, Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia, PA 3/16/2025
Brooklyn Bowl turnt up for Benee in Philadelphia on this stop of the Particles Tour in celebration of her latest album, “Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles.” Joining Benee on tour is New York-based Pop and R and B artist, Bayli.
Kicking off the night, Bayli came onto the stage and immediately had a high and positive energy that spread to the crowd very quickly. With Bayli releasing her debut album, “No Re Entry,” in late 2025, fans had the opportunity to hear some songs like “Sugarcoat” and “Lucky Number One.” Towards the end of her set, she looked for a fan to give them a tiara, and pronounced them as her “Passenger Princess,” and then proceeded to play her song that shares the same name. Overall, Bayli’s high energy mixed with her pop and R and B blend made for an interesting and entertaining start to the show.
From New Zealand, Benee is an alt-pop artist who mixes playful elements and themes into her music. Her breakthrough came through the release of her song, “Supalonely,” which went viral on TikTok during COVID. Her newest project, “Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles, talks about what her move from New Zealand to Los Angeles has been like. It talks about themes like mental health, loneliness, and existential thoughts.
Benne started her set with a bang with “Sad Boiii,” “Cinnamon,” and “Vegas,” and right away, fans were loving it. Utilizing the entire stage, hopping around, shaking her hair, and moving smoothly with the sparkly mic stand, Benee’s stage presence was top-notch. On top of a wonderful voice and awesome stage presence, Benee knows how to keep a crowd entertained even without music. For example, Benee showed fans her top-of-the-line American accent, and everyone approved. Halfway through the set, it was time to slow down. Benee brought out a couple of stools for her guitarist and herself, and performed an acoustic version of “Doesn’t Matter.” But not to worry, the energy immediately picked back up when she performed more upbeat songs like “Underwater” and “Princess.”
Benee saved the best for last by playing all of her top hits from all different eras of her career, like “Glitter,” “Afterthought,” and most notably, “Supalonely.” Fans went hard for the last parts of the set, with everyone jumping up and down with Benee, having a great time, and then ended the show with “Green Honda.” Overall, this show felt like the perfect mix of early-2020s nostalgia and a breath of fresh air, featuring new hits from her latest album. This tour truly has something for everyone. With more shows happening on this tour until April 3, this is a can't-miss!
