YELLOW DAYS
Yellow Days, The Foundry, Philadelphia, PA 3/17/2026
Walking into the Foundry on Tuesday night, you got the sense that something good was about to happen. The room was already warm by the time Chicago-native Ric Wilson hit the stage, and he wasted absolutely no time making it his. Wilson brought a joyful energy that had the crowd moving from the jump. He’s the kind of opener that doesn't just fill time before the headliner, but sets the night on a whole different trajectory.
By the time Yellow Days took the stage, the room was ready. Backed by his band, the show had this intimate, almost living-room quality to it that felt rare for a touring act, almost like you'd been let in on something rather than just sold a ticket. The music from Rock And A Hard Place translated beautifully live, with the jazzy arrangements filling every corner of the room. He also threw in some old favorites like "Gap in the Clouds" off of his beloved 2016 album, Harmless Melodies, and my personal favorite, his 2018 single, "The Way Things Change."
But every song kept coming back to the voice. There's something so specific and so present about the way he sings. The weight and character doesn't let you drift, so you’re forced to keep your eyes forward with full attention through every song.
It was the kind of Tuesday night that makes you forget it's a Tuesday.
The Yellow Days A Rock In A Hard Place world tour continues onto the Northeast later this week, with stops in Brooklyn, NY, and Boston, MA.
