DAY WE RAN
Day We Ran, Milkboy, Philadelphia, PA 7/25/2026
It’s time we focus our attention on the boys from down under: Day We Ran. This Aussie four-piece has been climbing the charts with their guitar-driven alternative rock anthems. They played at Milkboy in Philadelphia, kicking off the second show of their first U.S. tour. Day We Ran opened with “Lady,” a new song off their debut album “Naked At Your Door.” I believe it was the perfect song for them to open with; its repetitive lyrics made it catchy enough for first-time listeners to sing along. After a few songs, lead singer Matthew Lough, graciously thanked Philadelphia for its energy and hospitality. The crowd immediately erupted into “Go Birds” chants, shortly followed by a group of men shouting “Lebron!” In the middle of their set, a fan threw a kazoo on stage. Daniel Lough, the bassist, tested it out only to be disappointed with its faultiness. The rest of the band waited briefly for the zany moment to shine, but alas the show had to go on. They ended their set performing their hit song “Foaming.” The bar on the floor below Milkboy had to have dust falling from the ceilings, as every person in that crowd was jumping for three minutes and thirteen seconds straight. They finish their U.S. tour out west in Los Angeles, California with notable openers such as The Braymores, stillblank, and Chlorine.
