Lucy Dacus, The Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ 7/25/2026
The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ welcomed Lucy Dacus on Friday night for an incredible performance in front of a magical sold-out crowd. I really only knew Lucy Dacus through her work alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker in boygenius, but after seeing her solo material live, I left with a whole new appreciation for her songwriting. Her songs are incredibly honest, emotional, and every lyric seemed to connect with the audience. Chicago indie band Ratboys kicked off the evening with a fantastic opening set, followed by Smidley, the indie-rock solo project of Foxing frontman Conor Murphy, both setting the perfect tone for the night. The crowd sang along to nearly every word, creating one of those special concert experiences that reminds you why live music is so powerful. To top it all off, Lucy returned for an encore with a beautiful cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark," a fitting tribute just blocks away from where The Boss made music history. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable night at the Stone Pony Summer Stage.
