Disclosure Lights Up Houston with a Night of Pure Energy and Connection

Disclosure’s Live North American Tour made its long awaited stop in Houston, and the crowd showed up ready. The UK-based brother duo, Guy and Howard Lawrence, hadn’t been to Houston since 2016, and the excitement was undeniable from the moment the house lights dimmed. Known for their genre blending sound that first shook up the mainstream with their 2013 debut Settle, featuring their breakout hit “Latch” with Sam Smith, Disclosure brought a performance that proved they are not just producers but true musicians and performers.

The brothers have built a career on breaking boundaries. They are known for collaborating with some heavy hitters in the music industry, from Khalid to Lorde, and their collaborations have no limits when it comes to genre. Whether it is pop, R&B, electronic, or house, their only rule is that the music has to feel good. That versatility was on full display in Houston.

Their stage setup was minimal yet purposeful, with both brothers placed center stage. Guy commanded the drums while Howard floated between keys, guitar, and vocals. Behind them, LED screens beamed shifting colors and abstract visuals that resembled a cosmic dreamscape, and lasers sliced through the air in perfect sync with each beat. Every drop hit hard, every transition was seamless, and the light design created an atmosphere that was both immersive and euphoric.

The crowd itself was as diverse as the music, a mix of longtime fans who discovered them during the Settle era and a younger wave that has grown up on their festival sets and collaborations. There was no single type of Disclosure fan. You had groups dancing shoulder to shoulder, couples swaying together, and friends with arms around each other singing every lyric. At one point, people were literally on each other’s shoulders, dancing without a care in the world. It was the kind of crowd that fed off each other’s energy in the best way.

What stood out most was the atmosphere of pure freedom. If you wanted to dance and vibe out, people gave you space. If you wanted to belt every word to “White Noise” or “Help Me Lose My Mind,” no one was judging. It felt like being in a community built around movement, joy, and sound. The kind of environment where strangers became friends by the end of the night.

Midway through the show, Guy took a break from the drums to engage with the crowd, letting them choose between three drum sounds. The audience shouted their favorites until he locked one in and launched into the intro of “Latch.” The reaction was instant, a roar that filled every inch of the venue. During that moment, Guy turned down the music and let the crowd sing in harmony to Sam Smith’s vocals. Hearing the crowd of voices echoing together was goosebump inducing, and it felt like a beautiful full circle moment that connected everyone in the room.

Their setlist moved fluidly through different eras of their catalog, mixing in hits like “F for You,” “White Noise,” “Help Me Lose My Mind,” and “Holding On.” The duo even switched things up mid-set when Guy moved to a full drum kit while Howard grabbed a guitar, and a live band joined them on stage with a trumpet and tuba that brought a fresh, organic feel to their electronic sound. They also performed “Tondo,” a fan favorite that had the entire room moving in rhythm to its infectious Afrobeat inspired groove. The musicianship was undeniable. These are not just DJs pressing buttons; they are artists who understand every layer of what makes a groove come alive.

As the night came to a close, Disclosure ended with “You and Me,” a crowd favorite that had everyone shouting at the top of their lungs. The energy in the room was pure joy, the kind that lingers long after the music fades.

Disclosure did not just return to Houston. They reminded the city how powerful it feels when rhythm, light, and emotion all hit at once. It was a masterclass in live electronic performance and a night that left everyone walking out smiling, sweaty, and already hoping for the next time they come back.
