DOPE LEMON
Dope Lemon, Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia, PA 6/3/25.
Australian legend Angus Stone and his band Dope Lemon coming to town is a can’t miss show. The world tour is coming after releasing their new album Golden Wolf; which boasts some really creative new hits like title song “Goldenwolf”, “John Belushi”, and “Yamasuki”. The opener for the show was Kate Peytavin a pop singer from Louisiana who started off the show by telling everyone she was from Philly which got a big cheer from the crowd but then said she was just joking but her guitarist was which also got a big applause. She played a song called “Louisiana” a song about being home sick for the feeling of your small town. She thanked the Philly crowd for showing up early and embracing her music. When it was time for Dope Lemon they came out in a big smoky haze with Angus coming out last to build anticipation for audience. They came out to “Stonecutters” a 2016 song off of the Honey Bones album. In the third song began the mascots coming out which included a Lemon head and a cat as they danced alongside of the band. Another cool moment in the show was when the harmonica player came down and played back to back with the guitar player as they had a really cool solo. In the middle of the set the played album title song “Golden Wolf” which is arguably my favorite all time Dope Lemon song, with the collective singing and incredible guitar riff in the end it makes for the perfect live song. The band closed out the set with “Uptown Folks” but were able to be convinced to come out and do a one song encore. They ended the night with “Home Soon” which brought the mascots back on stage as the whole band and mascots lined the stage all the way throughout the song and then they thanked everyone for an awesome night.
