J COLE

J Cole, Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia, PA 7/20/2026

It had been a few years since J. Cole last performed in Philadelphia, so I knew The Fall Off Tour was a must-see.

The evening kicked off with Dreamville Radio, whose DJ set mixed live performances into the music and did an excellent job of getting the crowd energized before the main event.

When it was finally time for J. Cole to take the stage, spotlights flashed from every direction, keeping the audience guessing about where he would appear. Instead of emerging onstage, he surprised everyone by entering through a lower seating section and making his way through the crowd before arriving at the stage. As he walked up, a Honda Civic was lowered from above, and J. Cole opened the show leaning against the car—an unforgettable visual that immediately set the tone.

The stage design was equally impressive. It featured a City Hall-inspired building surrounded by grass and ivy, creating a unique backdrop that complemented the atmosphere of the performance.

When J. Cole launched into "A Tale of 2 Citiez," the arena erupted. Fans enthusiastically waved the giveaway towels above their heads, turning the entire venue into a sea of motion. A few songs later, he surprised the crowd with a performance of Petey Pablo's "Raise Up," and the audience shouted every word, especially the iconic "Who am I? Petey Pab motherf*****!" at the top of their lungs.

He kept the energy high by following it with "Middle Child," one of the biggest hits of his career. To close out the night, J. Cole saved "No Role Modelz" for the finale, bringing the entire arena to its feet as fans sang and danced along to every lyric.

From the creative stage production and memorable entrance to the nonstop energy from both J. Cole and the Philadelphia crowd, it was an outstanding concert and well worth the wait.
