LUCY DACUS
Lucy Dacus, The Met, Philadelphia, PA 4/16/25.
Lucy Dacus opened up her “Forever Is A Feeling” tour at the Met Philly this month. It’s a familiar city for her, she lived there for years and has toured there often. Notably she’s played places like Union Transfer and The Mann.
She played songs from her whole discography, including a new rendition of “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and a surprising encore of “True Blue” from The Record, an album released in 2023 with supergroup boygenius. She ended, as she always does, with “Night Shift” off her 2018 album Historian. And the crowd, as it always does, screamed along.
It was a show filled with anger, melancholy, and maybe most potently, love. During “Best Guess,” a couple in the boxes got engaged and got a congrats from Dacus and the rest of us.
Katie Gavin of MUNA fame and British indie-rock artist jasmine.4.t opened up the show. Gavin released her debut solo album What A Relief in 2024, with a feature from Mitski. Jasmine has a few EP’s dating back to 2019, but her debut full length album was released this past January, titled You Are The Morning.
