THE HEAD & THE HEART
The Head & The Heart, The Keswick Theater, Glenside, PA 5/13/2026
Seeing The Head and the Heart for the fourth time, I already knew the kind of incredible energy they bring to the stage. But when I saw they were playing at Keswick Theatre, I knew this would be a can’t-miss show. The intimate atmosphere of the venue made it one of the most personal and memorable ways to experience the band live.
Opening the night were The Brudi Brothers, a folk trio made up of three brothers from Seattle, Washington. Their warm harmonies and laid-back sound were the perfect way to set the tone for the evening.
When The Head and the Heart took the stage, fans were greeted by a set designed to feel like a cozy living room, complete with a fireplace and a painting of their self-titled 2011 album, The Head and the Heart, which the band would go on to perform in its entirety. Between songs, the drummer shared stories about the creation of the album and reflected on the memories tied to the music nearly 15 years later, making the performance feel deeply personal.
The fifth song of the set, Rivers and Roads, was a standout moment for me. It’s always been one of my favorite songs, and hearing it live again brought that same nostalgic feeling that makes the track so special.
After finishing the album, the band launched into a second set beginning with an unreleased song titled “Grace,” which immediately captivated the audience. From there, they moved through a mix of fan favorites and newer material, including All We Ever Knew, Another Story, and Arrow from their 2025 album Aperture.
They closed the main set with Shake, the perfect high-energy finale that had the entire Keswick crowd dancing and singing along. The audience’s enthusiasm eventually brought the band back out for one final song before they lifted their guitars overhead, took a bow together, and walked offstage to a roaring ovation.
