WILCO
Wilco, Steelstacks, Bethlehem, PA 6/17/2026
When you see Wilco is playing a two set show at the iconic steelstacks in Bethlehem you go! Early in the set singer Jeff Tweedy noticed a young kid holding a sign that said staying up past my bed time for Jesus etc and said well you’re going to be staying up a lot longer because that’s going to be way later in the second set. A cool part in the set is when they play “Via Chicago” which has a crazy drumming throughout the calm singing to simulate having a conversation and the loud L train going by in Chicago. Towards the end of the first set they played my favorite n Wilco song with “California Stars” and then when they finished the first set Jeff yelled “Wilco’s up next”. When they came back out they started with “ “. After a few songs he said this is another song…called annihilation…I’m nailing this front man stuff and then launched into the song. They played another favorite of mine with “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” that got a lot of people singing along. When they played Kamera Jeff said it’s a bummer song for a night like this and there would be more bummer songs coming up, then started “Either Way” which got a big cheer from the audience. They played “Impossible Germany” which had a long instrumental break which showed off the bands jam abilities. When it was finally time for Jesus Etc. everyone was either singing or recording it on their phone and when the song came to an end he yelled “Go to bed” a callback to the sign from earlier. It was an awesome night in a super cool space.
